It is already 20th time we will have an opportunity to meet during the IGWT Symposium. The upcoming session will be hosted by University of Economics - Varna, the second university and the first pillar of academic economic thought in Bulgaria.
The roots trace of University of Economics-Varna dated back in 1911 when the Varna Chamber of Commerce and Industry management started planning the establishment of the Higher School of Commerce, whose launch was voted on the 14 May 1920 at the Chamber’s 25th session. Through its 95 year history the Alma Mater of Varna has changed its name a number of times. In 1990 the higher school was renamed Varna University of Economics, following a decision of its Academic Council, confirmed by National Parliament decision in 1995. Currently the Commodity science department is one of the fifth departments, fully-fledged at the Faculty of economics in the University of Economics-Varna.
The Commodity Science Department was established in 1948 simultaneously with the creation of specialty "Commodity Science". The first rector of the Higher School of Commerce - Professor Tsani Kalyandzhiev was the first Professor of Commodity Science in Bulgaria. Already 65 years the Commodity Science Department is the only national center for training specialists with higher education in the field of quality and expertise of goods.
You are cordially invited to take part in that most significant scientific event within the realm of quality in commodity science held biannually. You are kindly invited and welcome to participate in the panel and discussions as well as to enjoy the ambience of Varna, the Summer capital of Bulgaria.
